My Favourite Shows of Paris Fashion Week

Happy Friday everyone! As I told you already, last week started Paris Fashion Week and it just finished this Tuesday. It was nine days where a large number of designers showed their collections for the 2019-20 Autumn-Winter edition. Even the Peruvian designer, Noe Bernacelli, presented his Haute Couture collection at the Fashion Week Studio.

Now, I’m going to talk a bit about the three collections that caught my attention the most in this edition.

Dior was definitely my favourite of the PFW. Maria Grazia Chiuri presented us a collection that combined the characteristic elegance of all Dior designs with the British urban style of the 50’s. The palette of the collection includes red, dark green, blue, beige, white and black, emphasising plaid motifs as a British inspiration with the famous tulle skirts of the brand.

In this opportunity, Givenchy presents us a sophisticated collection that combines geometric shapes and softness to achieve garments that irradiate individuality. The most outstanding designs are suits and coats that accentuate the hips to emphasise the shape. Also, Clare Waight Keller brings us dresses and sets with colourful floral motifs in pleated fabrics that contrast with the neutral colours of the designs.

The last collection designed by Karl Lagerfeld and Virginie Viard was held at the Grand Palais, which was transformed into a winter village. This ambiance combined with the colours of the collection: white, black and navy blue in contrast with purple, fuchsia, brick and emerald green. The most outstanding textures were tweed (characteristic of Chanel), knits and leather in all kind of garments that looked really cozy.

It was hard to choose just three shows because Paris Fashion Week was the longest of them and it had shows all day. I really hope that you enjoyed my selection and if you want to see the complete collections, you can check the designers’ Instagram accounts or websites.
